History

The Adirondack Bluefin Swim Club was founded in the Spring of 2000 when Ken McLaughlin, the Siena College Girls Varsity and former AV Starfish head coach joined with Jeff Maxwell, the Shaker High School Girls Varsity and Capital District Aquatics Club head coach, to create a professionally managed swim club. BFIN is a non-profit, coach-run, parents-supported organization.

On a national level, the club has been represented at the Eastern States Zone Championships, Junior and Senior National Championships and Olympic Trials. In addition to participating in US Swimming competitions, many of our swimmers participate in competitive high school and college programs. This has provided them with the opportunity to become high school and college record-holders, state champions, and achieve All-American status.

Our Club is a comprehensive program, which includes a Red Cross “Learn-to-Swim” program, a multi-level competitive program and an adult masters program.
