UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT

SUITS: We recommend, but do not require, the use of a team suit at all swim meets. We find this gives a sense of team spirit and enthusiasm. It also helps the coach locate members easier. Team suits can be pricey, however, so we recommend that they are worn for competition only and additional, inexpensive suits be purchased for practice.

GOGGLES: Most swimmers will need goggles to protect their eyes from chlorine, especially during practice. Goggles are sold at most sporting goods stores. It is not a bad idea to have one extra pair.

CAPS: Caps are not required, except for swimmers with long hair. Club caps are available through the team store.

WARM-UP SUITS: Some sort of warm-up suit is essential for meets, where swimmers find themselves sitting around, sometimes in drafty areas, for periods of time between events.

GYM BAGS: Some means of carrying suits, towels and other gear to and from practices and meets is a good idea. Mark it with your name and your club name.
